The conference is dedicated to relationships and comparisons between Austria and Canada from the 19th century to the present. Both Austria and Canada occupy a space that is slightly outside of the usual debates surrounding their larger and more influential neighbors, yet both countries have their own long-standing traditions that expose cultural idiosyncrasies and overlap in historical encounters.
